Mall At Short Hills Evacuated Due To Water Main Break
The Mall at Short Hills was evacuated Monday afternoon due to a water main break underneath the sprawling shopping complex, the business said in a statement. The mall also said it was "assessing" the situation and may reopen later today, but in a subsequent statement said it would remain closed Monday. The mall is expected to reopen on time Tuesday. Messages for mall management were not immediately returned. A spokesperson for the Millburn police department was not immediately available. Multiple Uninvited Guests Arrested At Wild Nutley House Party
Police made a number of arrests at a Nutley house party Aug. 16 that was advertised on social media -- and drew a multitude of uninvited guests. Officers investigating a noise complaint on Wayside Lane saw several dozen people fleeing as they arrived. Police later learned that the party had been announced on Snapchat and drew attendees from across North Jersey, many of whom were unknown to the resident, police said. An English teacher at Millburn High School has been charged with endangering the welfare of one of his students after he repeatedly made sexually suggestive comments to her during the past school year, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said Friday. Construction has begun on an off-leash dog park at Branch Brook Park in Newark and Belleville, officials said Friday.
