Taconic Stop Results In Felony Drug Possession Charge For Man, 30 A 30-year-old man is behind bars after a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway resulted in the discovery of a variety of drugs, state police said. Troopers stopped a 2008 Honda on the Taconic in the town of Milan in Dutchess County on Friday, July 27 at approximately 4:20 p.m. While interviewing the occupants, a strong odor of marijuana was detected, state police said. New York State Police troopers stopped a 2006 Toyota Matrix at approximately 5:30 p.m. on July 1, after the driver was spotted committing a vehicle and traffic law violation in Dutchess County. Family Of Three Displaced Following Two-Alarm Milan Fire A family of three are temporarily homeless following a chimney fire that ripped through the two-story home in Milan. The fire started around 3 p.m. Sunday, at 123 Shookville Road, said Jeffrey Galm, second assistant chief for the Milan Fire Department. Chief Kurt Mizgier was first to arrive on the scene and found flames through an exterior wall and roof, Galm said. The family -- mother, father, child and a cat, -- had evacuated safely before the department arrived.  A second alarm was dispatched bringing about 45 firefighters from Red Hook, Rhinebeck, and Livingston fire departments.
