Dead Deer Reported In CT Towns, 3 Test Positive For Hemorrhagic Disease, Officials Say
State officials announced that three white-tailed deer tested positive for hemorrhagic disease, as dead deer have been found across multiple towns in Connecticut. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced on Wednesday, Sept. 28, that the first positive case this year came from a deer found in the Litchfield County town of Goshen. Woman Accused Of Stealing Catalytic Converters Valued At $12.5K From CT Business
A Connecticut woman was arrested for allegedly taking part in the theft of $12,5000 worth of catalytic converters from company vehicles of a business. Middlesex County resident Yamil Burgos, age 26, of Middletown, was arrested in New Haven County on Tuesday, Sept. 6, for the Wednesday, Aug. 24 incident in Milford. Milford Police detectives conducted an investigation which led to evidence that Burgos was an active participant in the thefts, police said. This is the third arrest made in the case. One person was killed and four people and three pets were displaced in an early morning house fire in Connecticut. The blaze broke out in Middlesex County around 4:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 1 on Pine. St., in Middletown. According to Middletown Fire Chief Jay Woron, firefighters arrived on the scene within four minutes and encountered heavy fire in the duplex structure with fire and the first floor and quickly moved to the second floor and the attic. Driver Dies In Fiery Crash Near Connecticut Intersection
A driver was killed in a fiery crash near a Connecticut intersection. It happened in Middlesex County at 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, according to Connecticut State Police.
