ID Released For Man Who Jumped To His Death From Sikorsky Bridge
Connecticut State Police have identified the man who jumped to his death from the Sikorsky Memorial Bridge on Thursday. The victim was identified as Stephen P. Regan, 62, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, state police said. Regan jumped off the Sikorsky Bridge around 2 p.m., Thursday, April 4, and his body was retrieved by state police and officials with the Stratford Fire Department. Numerous crews are working to find a person who jumped off the Sikorsky Bridge, according to Connecticut State Police. State Police Sgt. There will be lane closures for several weeks on the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield County as contracting crews continue infrastructure improvement efforts in the area. The Connecticut State Department of Transportation announced that there will be daily right lane closures northbound on the parkway between exit 42 in Westport and the North Avenue overpass. One Connecticut lawmaker is urging the state to hit the brakes after the Connecticut General Assembly’s Transportation Committee approved several tolling bills. Last week, the Committee passed Gov. Ned Lamont’s and two separate committee plans by a vote of 23-13, which includes installing tolls on Interstates 91, 95, 84 and along parts of the Merritt and Wilbur Cross parkways. A motorist was able to avoid any injuries by escaping through a sunroof after being involved in a rollover crash on the Merritt Parkway in Westport. First responders were dispatched to a stretch of the parkway near exit 44 in Westport at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 11, where there was a report of a multi-vehicle crash with one of the vehicles landing on its side.
