MIT Grad Students Save Dog Dumped From Car Stolen By Teenager In Cambridge: Police
A car thief stole a BMW with a dog still inside the vehicle, but their plot to rid themselves of the bystander canine were foiled by a group of MIT graduate students, officials say. The graduate students saw the BMW dump a dog out of the vehicle around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 11 at the intersection of Wadsworth and Amherst Streets, Cambridge police say. Three people worked as a team to distract an elderly grocery shopper and steal her wallet before attempting to target another shopper, officials say. An employee who was sleeping at his place of work died in an early morning fire in Medford this weekend, authorities said. Local and state officials are investigating after a person died from a fire in Medford, authorities said. Medford Fire responded to the area of 295 Middlesex Avenue, behind the old Crunch Fitness, around 5:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, according to State Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire coming from a wooded area behind the building.
