Cuomo Campaign Contributors Include New Tappan Zee Bridge Union Contractors
A Daily Voice analysis of campaign finance reports shows that New York's major labor unions involved in replacing the Tappan Zee Bridge donated almost $800,000 to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's re-election campaign. Meanwhile, the same unions landed billions of dollars in construction contracts to build the new bridge, which the Democratic governor seeking a third term on Nov. 6 officially named after his late father, Mario M. Cuomo. Numerous commuters have complained to Daily Voice that the new TZB remains as jammed during rush hour as ever -- especially during foul weather -- and they reject Cuomo's…

Gillibrand Agrees To Single TV Debate
With the election less than two weeks away, U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand shed her so-called chicken suit and agreed to debate her Republican opponent Chele Farley on Thursday, Oct. 25. Cuomo relented and gave Republican Marc Molinaro his first and probably only one-on-one debate on Tuesday, as reported here by Daily Voice. Gillibrand, who is up for re-election on Nov. 6, canceled a debate on Sunday spo…

New Siena Poll Gives Early Look At How Cuomo-Molinaro Race Stands Now
A new Siena College Research Institute Poll indicates how the race between Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican challenger Marc Molinaro could become closer if Democratic primary loser Cynthia Nixon remains on a third-party ballot line. In the latest poll released on Monday, Oct. 1, Siena found that Cuomo, a Democrat seeking a third-term, leads Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro by 50 to 28 percent. But the same poll found that Nixon, who lost to Cuomo in the Sept. 13 primary election, could still drew 10 percent of the statewide vote if her name remains on the Working Families Party line…

Blame It On The Rain, Snow: Cuomo Poses Theory For Upstate Population Flight
Snowy winters in Upstate New York is not a new phenomenon. But Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New Castle blames lousy cold weather -- including excessive snow and rain -- on the loss of nearly 1 million residents in northern NY counties during the past decade, according to multiple news reports. On Tuesday, Sept. 25, Cuomo said that upstate population is shrinking because many of those moving out of New York simply want to live in a better climate. Upstate counties have collectively experienced a population drop of nearly 1 million people over the past 10 years, but the governor drew no connection …
