Glen Rock PD: Cooking Oil Thieves Caught
Glen Rock police tracked down and busted two Hudson County men who they said siphoned used cooking oil that a local shopping center owner was collecting for recycling. A retired police officer who saw a TV news story about the Dec. 28 thefts recognized a van that police said the thieves used -- and had taken several photos of it, including the license plate number, which Police Chief Dean Ackermann said wasn't visible on surveillance video. Glen Rock PD: Thieves Steal Used Cooking Oil From Behind Restaurants
Two thieves in a white van siphoned used cooking oil that a Glen Rock shopping center owner was collecting for recycling, authorities said. The property owner told police that he collects the used oil from two restaurants that leave it in drums behind the Maple Avenue shopping center. Surveillance video shows the pair pulling around back in a white cargo van late Thursday night, getting out and removing the locks from the drums before pumping out the contents with a large hose, Lt. Glen Rock DWI Crash Sends 2 To Hospital: Elmwood Park Driver Charged
An Elmwood Park driver was drunk when his car slammed into another stopped for a light in Glen Rock, sending both his passenger and the other driver to the hospital, authorities said. Carlos L. Trejos Jr., 57 was headed north on Maple Avenue when the crash occurred at Harristown Road just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Glen Rock Police Ticketed 76 Drivers For Violations At Safety Checkpoint
The Glen Rock Police Department is keeping the streets safe -- starting with drivers. Authorities last Monday issued 76 summonses to vehicles found with safety violations at a checkpoint last Monday on Maple Avenue and Harding Plaza, and 45 motorists had overdue inspections. Six drivers were cited for driving while talking on their phones. Mini-Van Rams Glen Rock Utility Pole
GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- A mini-van slammed into a Glen Rock utility pole Thursday morning, sending the driver to the hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
