Everett, Chelsea, Lynn Men Killed In String Of Fatal Crashes: Police
Several people are dead and others were injured in a string of crashes over the weekend that Massachusetts State Police are investigating.
Oscar J. Portillo, 53, of Chelsea, died on Saturday, Aug. 28, as he crossed the street on Revere Beach Parkway at Vine Street in Everett when a 2001 Toyota Camry crashed into him, State Police said. Responders rushed him to an area hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The 46-year-old Lynn driver remained on the scene, and authorities have not charged him with anything, police said. Officers are still investigating the incident. …

Authorities have released the identities of the four family members who died in an apparent murder/suicide in Lynn earlier this week.
Investigators determined that Kahosay Sharifi, age 31, shot and killed her 66-year-old father, Mohamad Sharifi, and 34-year-old brother-in-law, Sanjar Halin, at 98 Rockaway Street on Tuesday, Aug. 23, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said.

Bryan DaRosa, 18, Rick Pierre, 23, and Halland Pierre, 18, all of Lynn, were pulled over on Revere Beach Monday, Aug 8, after a state police trooper spotted DaRosa's BMW had no front license plate and an expired inspection sticker, the Massachusetts State Police Office said. Organizers of the Shoe City Basketball Tournament decided to cancel the event after a 25-year-old man fired several shots in the parking lot of a middle school where they were holding it on Friday, Aug. 5, authorities said.
Canseco Morillo, 25, is accused of firing multiple times as he ran away from Thurgood Marshall Middle School just after 10:30 p.m., Lynn police said.
