The life of a "passionate" teacher and coach at Lynn Public Schools was "cut far too short" when he died at age 49, leaving behind a loving family and school support system.
Joseph Correnti, of Lynn, died on Thursday, March 30, according to his obituary. Correnti taught in Lynn Public Schools for 27 years, most recently as an adaptive PE teacher working with special needs students with physical limitations, according to a Facebook post made by Lynn Public Schools.

Elmer Funes, of Lynn, and Xavier Munoz- Diaz, of Lawrence, were arrested on Thursday, March 30 around 8:30 p.m. after police saw the Funes engage in a street drug deal with Munoz- Diaz in the car with him, according to the Boston Police Department.

Two men were found guilty of first-degree murder for a 2020 shooting death of a 35-year-old father from Lynn in what prosecutors said was "an unjustified attack," according to officials.
Tyrell Junior Berberena, 27, of Malden and Marcus Carlisle, 25, of Lynn were convicted of 13 counts in connection with the shooting death of Noe Hernandez on Tuesday, March 14, the Essex County District Attorney's Office reports.
