Police in North Castle were recently called to Byram Hills High School in Armonk after a trio of parents were allegedly heckling referees at a lacrosse game. Six Yorktown High School student-athletes made their college commitments official on Tuesday by signing letters of intent to play sports at their chosen colleges, bringing the total number of varsity athletes from YHS who will play on Division I and Division II teams in 2018-19 to 18. A boys lacrosse coach on one of the area's most successful programs was arrested at the school on an active warrant for possession of narcotics, according to the Waterbury Police Department. Raul Bourgeois, a coach on Darien High School's freshman team, was arrested around 2 p.m. Thursday by Darien Police officers after being notified by the Waterbury Police Department, that he was believed to be on the campus, Darien Police said. The Stamford community is mourning the loss of 23-year-old Tamarie Sterling, who died earlier this month after battling a rare type of liver cancer. He is remembered as being an inspirational leader and passionate lacrosse player with a positive mindset. The Westchester County woman who pleaded guilty to drinking, driving and killing a 21-year-old Manhattanville College lacrosse player is due to be sentenced this week.
