Police have identified the elderly man who was killed after his vehicle was struck and went airborne near La Plata, reports WTOP. George Bernard Thomas Jr., 88, was struck by a Virginia woman in a Chevrolet who failed to yield to oncoming traffic while making a turn at the intersection of Crain Highway and Turkey Hill Road, around 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, the outlet said citing state police. A multiple-vehicle crash has left at least one person dead on Crain Highway in La Plata according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The crash occurred on the 5230 block of Crain Highway around 12 p.m., Tuesday, May 31.
