New Study Finds Iona College Contributed Nearly $300M To Regional Economy Iona College contributed nearly $300 million to the regional economy, according to a brand-new study. Iona College contributed $284.4 million to the economy and was responsible for 1,930 jobs in 2017, the college announced. The figure represents a near $26 million increase from the previous year. The study was commissioned by the Albany-based Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities, who evaluated more than 100 private, not-for-profit schools. Driver In Fatal Fiery Westchester Crash Charged With DWI A New Rochelle man has been charged with DWI in the fatal crash that killed his passenger on Saturday. Alan Roth, 63, who was also injured in the crash, was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated, said New Rochelle Police Capt. Cosmo Costa.  The crash occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday on Pinebrook Boulevard, a residential street just east of New Rochelle High School.
