Two Lanes On I-684 Reopen This story has been updated. Two lanes on southbound I-684 have reopened after a crash toward the tail end of the Wednesday morning commute. The I-684 southbound incident occurred at the Saw Mill Parkway junction (Exit 5) in Katonah at about 8:30 a.m. An earlier crash led to the closure of the northbound lanes of the Taconic Parkway at Exit 23 (Bryant Pond Road) in Putnam Valley. New Round Of I-684 Lane Closures Scheduled There will be multiple lanes closed temporarily over the weekend on I-684 as contracting crews continue construction work in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, there will be double lane closures northbound on the interstate between exit 8 (Hardscrabble Road) and exit 9 (I-84) in Westchester and Putnam counties. Motorists can expect delays, the NYSDOT warned. Drivers have been advised to seek alternate routes, when available, and to follow the directions of traffic control devices and flaggers in the area.

The driver, who has not been named, hit the pole in Katonah around 4:48 a.m. Sunday, closing the busy interstate for more than 15 hours.
