The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at the intersection of Henry W. Troopers stopped Beacon resident Tina Owen, 35, on Wednesday, March 6, on State Route 9W in Newburgh for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation. During the subsequent traffic stop, it was determined that Owen was under the influence of alcohol and she was subsequently arrested. Owen was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Brittin Caffrey of Gardiner was arrested following an investigation by troopers in Highland and the New York State Police Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit. The investigation was launched following a complaint of sexual assault in Gardiner.
