Seen Him? State Police Issue Alert For Accused Drug Dealer Wanted In Area
The New York State Police in the Hudson Valley are searching for an area drug dealer wanted for allegedly peddling heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine. Dutchess County resident Daeshon Q. Futrell, age 29, of Poughkeepsie, is wanted by police for allegedly dealing drugs in the Poughkeepsie and Highland areas, the state police said. He is described as being 5-foot-7, 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to please contact the New York State Police at 845-677-7300. NY State Police Issue Alert For Phone Scam Where Caller Poses As Trooper
New York State Police have issued a warning about a recent phone scam where callers pretend to be state troopers. Police said many of the calls centered on the Highland area in Ulster County. The callers would pretend to be state troopers and say that charges are pending against the person they called. They would then request money or bank information, police said. Woman Killed By Own Vehicle In Driveway Of Home In Area
A woman was killed after she was run over by her own vehicle in a freak accident in the area. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, when in Ulster County on Sterling Place in Highland. According to Town of Lloyd Police Chief James Janso, the 84-year-old Highland woman had pulled into the driveway of her residence and exited her car when it began to roll back in the driveway. Man Found Dead In Vehicle On Side Of Area Roadway, Police Say
An area man was found dead in a vehicle on the shoulder of a roadway. The incident took place around 7:39 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, on Upper Grant Street in Highland in Ulster County, when the Town of Lloyd Police responded to a call of a deceased man. When officers arrived on the scene they found a 65-year-old Highland man dead in the driver's seat of his vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway, said Town of Lloyd Chief of Police James Janso. No foul play is suspected. The cause is death is believed to be natural/medical pending an autopsy report, Janso said.

An area man is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly strangling a victim until the person became unconscious. Police responded to a report of a physical domestic in Ulster County at a home in Lumberland on Sunday, July 18, at about 11:45 a.m., according to New York State Police. State Police responded to two separate drownings over the weekend in the region. Both bodies were recovered in Sullivan County.
