NJ Man, 39, Filmed Sexual Assaults On Girl: Prosecutor
A 39-year-old man from Mays Landing was sentenced to time in a sexual offender treatment center for his assault on a girl, authorities said. Christian Navarrete was sentenced to 25 years in New Jersey State Prison but will serve at least part of his time at the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. He was convicted of the aggravated sexual assault of a minor and child endangerment, the prosecutor's office said. UPDATE: The man who drove the getaway car -- actually a minivan -- in an armed robbery spree in New Jersey and Pennsylvania must spend the next 12 years in federal prison. Omar Feliciano-Estremera, 45, was the wheelman for a fellow Trentonian Gabriel Lopez, who authorities said fired a gun during one of the holdups. Atlantic County Man Convicted Of Strangling 25-Year-Old Woman
A jury convicted Timothy Wright, 42, on Wednesday, Nov. 2 for first-degree murder. Wright was found guilty of strangulating 25-year-old Joyce Vanderhoff on Feb. 13, 2014, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Vanderhoff’s naked body was found on the side of Weymouth Road in Hamilton Township the following morning. Timothy Wright was arrested in 2019 in Pennsylvania and extradited to New Jersey to stand trial. The two-and-a-half-week-long trial began on Oct. 17, 2022. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 16, 2022. An investigation is underway after a “severely burned” body was found near a New Jersey cemetery, authorities said. Officers responding to the area of Clover Avenue in Hamilton Township found severely burned human remains around 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said. Missing Boy Found Dead In NJ Lake
The body of a 4-year-old boy reported missing was found submerged in the bottom of a New Jersey lake Thursday, July 14, authorities said. Police were called to Overlook Avenue near John A. Roebling Memorial Park in Hamilton Township on reports of a missing child around 5 p.m., approximately 40 minutes after he'd last been seen, local police said. After about an hour of searching, his body was found submerged in Spring Lake, police said.The boy was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
