A Jersey City laborer working a Glen Rock home renovation was arrested by police who said they found him carrying 40 heroin folds, crack and more after he abandoned an overdosing co-worker. Officers responding to a call of an injured man on a sidewalk turned a collapsed 47-year-old heroin user from Garfield over to EMTs while chasing down another man who fled the scene, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Pickup Rolls In Route 208 Crash
A driver was hospitalized as a precaution after his pickup truck rolled Monday on Route 208 in Hawthorne. The pickup, which rolled after contacting another vehicle, was towed following the crash between Utter and Van Winkle avenues on the northbound side. The driver made it out under his own steam before members of the Hawthorne Volunteer Ambulance Corps put him in a neck brace and took him to a nearby hospital. Glen Rock police were searching for a truck that struck a bicyclist and kept going Thursday afternoon. The victim flagged down a police officer after the truck's passenger-side mirror struck her on Harristown Road, near the intersection of Berkeley Place, and broke off just after 2 p.m., Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Police on Thursday were investigating a swastika found etched into an auditorium chair at Fair Lawn's Memorial Middle School -- a week after another was found in a boy's bathroom stall, district officials said. 75-Year-Old Driver Hospitalized After Runaway SUV Crashes Through Fences In Glen Rock
A 75-year-old driver was hospitalized Thursday after her SUV ran off the road, crashed through several fences and wound up wedged against fencing and shrubs in Glen Rock. An ambulance took the driver to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that responders said weren't considered life-threatening after the Ackerman Avenue crash.
