Here's When Westchester County Will Offer Free Bus Rides This Holiday Season
Westchester County will be offering free rides on the Bee-Line bus system for certain days this holiday season, county officials announced.
The decision to offer free rides comes after the county did the same in June, July, and August of 2022 when the system experienced a 37 percent increase in ridership, county officials said.
The free bus rides will be available on the following days:
Saturday, Nov. 19 to Sunday, Nov. 27;
Wednesday, Dec. 7 to Monday, Dec. 26.

Sales Tax On Home Energy Costs To Be Suspended In Westchester County, Officials Say
A suspension of the sales tax on home energy costs will soon take effect in Westchester County to help residents save some money, county officials announced.
The suspension will start on Thursday, Dec. 1, and last until Tuesday, Feb. 28, County Executive George Latimer announced on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
"As we all face rising costs in our daily lives, this suspension of certain sales tax will add extra dollars to the wallets of those who call Westchester home," Latimer said.

'It's Long Overdue': Officials Unveil New $40M Memorial Field Complex In Mount Vernon
Officials unveiled the long-awaited new Memorial Field Complex in Westchester County.
The ribbon-cutting event for the newly-updated field in Mount Vernon, hosted by Westchester County Executive George Latimer and City of Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
The project cost a total of $40 million, and the new stadium has 3,900 seats, a lighted field equipped for football, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey, along with a sound system that can handle major concerts, officials said.
