1 Killed During Crash At North Bay Shore Intersection During Height Of Evening Commute
A person was killed after being struck by a compact SUV during the height of the evening commute at a busy Long Island intersection.It happened just before 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in North Bay Shore. A 76-year-old North Bay Shore man was driving a 2015 Honda CRV westbound on Pine Aire Drive at the intersection of 5th Avenue. The victim, who police have not yet identified, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the CRV was not injured. A 19-year-old was killed in a two-vehicle crash after he allegedly ran a red light in the region, striking another car. Teen Duo Charged After Knife Found At Sachem North High School In Lake Ronkonkoma
Two teens have been charged following a dispute that allegedly prompted one of them to bring a knife to school on Long Island. A 15-year-old boy displayed the knife at his bus stop and was met by staff members as he exited the bus at Sachem High School North in Lake Ronkonkoma, according to Suffolk County Police. A 20-year-old was seriously injured in a single-vehicle Long Island crash. It happened around 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 in Copiague. A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle and killed in a crash in Holmdel, authorities said. Holmdel police responded to the wreck on Bethany Road on Monday, Aug. 12, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.
