Two men are behind bars after allegedly going on a shoplifting spree that netted them thousands of dollars in merchandise from numerous Long Island stores.
Oreall Thomas, age 47, and Shaun Williams, age 52, both of Freeport, were arrested Monday, Dec. 12, on charges of grand larceny, Nassau County Police said.
Officers had been called to the TJ MAXX store in Carle Place, located on Glen Cove Road, with reports of a theft.
Both men were gone by the time officers arrived, but police spotted them a short time later near Glen Cove and Old Country roads and arrested them, police said.

The crash happened at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, in Massapequa Park, on Sunrise Highway near Park Boulevard, Nassau County Police said.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Juan DeLeon Collado, age 29, of Freeport, was driving westbound in a Honda CR-V when he crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a Honda Civic head on.

Argument Leads To Shooting At Long Island Home, Police Say
A man is recovering after an argument led to a shooting at a Long Island home, authorities said.
Nassau County Police responded to reports of a shooting at a home in Roosevelt, located on Madison Avenue, at around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4.
When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.
He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital and was last listed in stable condition.
There were no other reports of injuries stemming from the incident.
