Police: Jersey Shore Driver Shatters Car Windows With Steel, Glass Ammo In Slingshot Spree
A Wall Township man drove around town shattering car windows with a slingshot, said police who arrested him. Officer Chris Mason arrested Mark Shatkus, 35, Tuesday night after he smashed the rear passenger window of one driver on Allaire Road and the front passenger window of another on Belmar Boulevard near Route 35 using steel and glass projectiles, police said Wednesday in a statement. Shatkus, who drove around in an SUV, also shattered the front passenger window of a car parked in a lot off Belmar Boulevard, they said. No injuries were reported. Police seek the public's help in finding a woman suspected of using a fraudulent credit card to make $13,000 in purchases at a Monmouth County home improvement store, authorities said. Old Bridge police posted a surveillance photo of the woman on their Facebook page on Wednesday. The woman used the card on March 6 to buy items at Home Depot store in Freehold Township, police said. She left the store in a silver or gray mid-sized SUV, they said. The victim of the fraud lives in Old Bridge. : Monmouth County Coronavirus Cases Linked To Golden Age Senior Program, Officials Say
Two of the newest presumptive positive cases of coronavirus in Monmouth County have a common link to a senior program, officials said. The Golden Age adult day-care program in Morganville, which has closed, is associated with two women -- one 66 years old and the other 83, state and county health officials said. Both women are from Hazlet and have ben admitted to Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel.
