These Massachusetts Counties Among Healthiest In Nation, New Report Says
When it comes to the healthiest locales in the United States, several counties in Massachusetts are faring quite well, according to a new ranking by U.S. News & World Report.
The outlet analyzed nearly 3,000 US counties on metrics it said shape and show the health of a community, like public safety, access to healthcare, educational equity, income, housing affordability, food availability, and nutrition.
Analysts then used that data to rank the 500 healthiest communities in the country across 10 categories on a scale of zero to 100.

The average price for gas in Massachusetts reached $5 per gallon for the first time ever on Tuesday, June 7, according to AAA.
Currently the average cost per gallon in Suffolk County is $5.11 and just over $5 in Essex, Middlesex and Norfolk Counties, the agency reports.
Meanwhile, the average price at the pump in Worcester, Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden and Berkshire Counties sits at just under the historic landmark.

A Massachusetts State Police trooper on patrol in Franklin County busted a New England man and minor who were in possession of drugs and illegal weapons, authorities announced.
Trooper Tyler Hersom was on patrol at approximately 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22 when he stopped a vehicle on I-91 in Whately for driving without front or rear license plates.
During the subsequent stop, investigators said that Hersom found five people inside the vehicle, and the driver, Shaftsbury, Vermont resident Dylan Graskey, age 35, was allegedly “deceptive,” according to police.
