The fire broke out in the 2½-story single-family house shortly before 5:30 p.m. Hackensack. Englewood, Ridgefield Park and Bogota firefighters provided mutual aid. ID Released For Woman Killed In East Islip House Fire A woman who died in an overnight East Islip house fire has been identified by officials. Laurie Addeo, 61, a resident of the home, was killed when the fire started around 2:12 a.m., Friday, Sept. 27, at the home at 3 Washington Ave., said the Suffolk County Police. Police said the five other residents of the home were able to escape unharmed. Detectives do not believe the cause of the fire is suspicious, police said. At least six fire departments responded to help battle the blaze including Islip Terrace, East Islip, Central Islip, Islip, Brentwood, and East Brentwood.

Fire crews were dispatched to a home in Orange County on Old Cahoonzie Road in Sparrowbush shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, where there was a report of a two-alarm structure fire. Upon arrival, officials said that firefighters found the home fully engulfed. It took crews less than an hour to knock down the flames. The blaze forced a temporary closure of Old Cahoonzie Road in both directions. No injuries were initially reported.
