Katie Ann Mele Of Wayne, 29, Was Studying To Become Paralegal
Katie Ann Mele of Wayne died on Jan. 28. She was 29 years old. Katie Ann was born in Teaneck and lived in Fairview before moving to Wayne. She was a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University and was studying to be a paralegal. She also lived in New Milford Katie Ann was employed by Michael Sprague, Attorney in Hackensack. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Of The Valley R.C. Church in Wayne. She is survived by her parents Angelo and Catherine (nee Cotrel) Mele of Wayne; brothers Michael and David Mele of Wayne; and grandmother Irene Horvath of Wayne. Services were private.

Queen Of Peace Graduate Edward Robinson Dies, 47
BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. — Edward Robinson of Washington Township died on Jan. 15 after surviving cancer for more than two decades. He was 47. Robinson was a graduate of Queen of Peace High School, and earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford. His last job was as a financial analyst at AT&T in Paramus. Robinson was an avid reader with particular interest in politics, history and comic books. Support Group Launched In River Edge Has Put Hundreds Back To Work
RIVER EDGE, N.J. – John Fugazzie was out of work when he started a support group for job seekers at the River Edge library in 2011. Over time, the initiative blossomed into a network of neighborhood-based support groups that have helped hundreds of people attain employment. “We have helped over 700 people back to work, but more important is, we’ve kept thousands engaged through the meetings and online,” Fugazzie said, of the group Neighbors-helping-Neighbors. Longtime Fair Lawn Firefighter, Ex-Chief Richard Bente Sr. Dies
FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Richard C. Bente, Sr. of Fair Lawn died Dec. 22. he was 92 years old. Born and raised in New York City, he lived in Fair Lawn for 65 years, proudly having served in the U.S. Navy. Richard earned a Bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Electrical Engineering. His long and dedicated service to fire safety included being a former chief and 40-year member of the Fair Lawn Volunteer Fire Department and a fire inspector with Fair Lawn and Elmwood Park.
