Dog Rescued After 13 Days In Wild In Connecticut A Connecticut woman who lost her 2-year-old rescue dog is a happy woman after the dog was rescued himself. Copper was rescued in Litchfield County by Amy La Russo, manager of Unleashed, a local New Milford kennel, after 13 days in the wild.  Copper’s adventure began when walking with his owner Jean Mariano in Saga Meadow Park and he became spooked by a pick-up, said LaRusso. At around 12:30 p.m. Milford 911 received a report of a person “stuck in the mud" at Eisenhower Park pond, firefighters said. The park is on North Street (Route 121). Dog Rescued After Being Stranded In Marsh On Long Island Fast-acting police officers came to the rescue of a dog that found itself in a precarious position stranded in a marsh on Long Island. Nassau County Police officers responded to Long Beach Road at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, where there was an adult male boxer that was stranded in the marsh and unable to make it back to the shore. The Ridgefield Police Department issued an alert on Thursday after a spayed female hound mix was found roaming in the area on Wednesday afternoon. The dog has no chip and was sporting a green collar when he was picked up.
