State Police Make Determination In Death Of Hudson Valley 2-Month-Old More than a month after finding a 2-month-old unresponsive, New York State Police have released its determination in the case. The child was found in Orange County around 4:45 a.m., Friday, Jan. 19 at a home on Fawn Hill in Sparrow Bush, a hamlet of Deer Park. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, the baby was transported to Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis where it was pronounced dead. Nevel said an investigation by the state police determined that no criminality was involved in the death of the child.

26-Year-Old Fatally Shoots His Mother At Their Deer Park Residence, Police Say A Long Island man has been apprehended after police say he shot and killed his mother at their residence. The incident happened around 9:20 p.m. Friday, July 14 in Deer Park, on the 1600 block of Deer Park Avenue. The victim, Deborah Strauch, age 64, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Suffolk County Police. Her son, Tyler Strauch, age 26, has been charged with second-degree murder. He was scheduled for arraignment Saturday, July 15 at First District Court in Central Islip.
