Glen Rock police were trying to identify a liquor store customer who dropped his pants and did his business in an aisle after he was told the bathroom was closed because of coronavirus restrictions. The closing of banks in China because of the coronavirus has made it more difficult for authorities to investigate a wire fraud that cost a Glen Rock medical services company $100,000. An accountant with the Harristown Road company reported receiving what appeared to be several legitimate emails from its CEO directing a wire transfer to a bank in China for international business purposes, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said Monday. Swastikas Found Scrawled At Glen Rock Middle School
Detectives were investigating the discovery Thursday morning of two swastikas drawn in pencil in a boy's bathroom at the Glen Rock Middle School, authorities said. Police: Swastika Found At Glen Rock School
A swastika was found drawn on the wall of a bathroom shared by Glen Rock's high school and middle school last week, authorities said Monday. "There are no suspects, nor has a specific intended target been identified," Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Glen Rock Honors Police Motorcycle Unit's Founder, Retired Sergeant Turned Crossing Guard
Glen Rock Police Officer Adam Pyatak has made a lasting mark in the borough as the “driving” force behind the department’s motorcycle unit. In return, the borough’s governing body recently honored him, along with a retired sergeant who's become a beloved crossing guard. A Glen Rock native, Pyatak joined the borough’s auxiliary police as a volunteer in 1993, and in 1996 was promoted to sergeant. In what’s become an epidemic of sorts, a Ridgewood woman became one of the latest mailbox theft victims after someone stole and cashed $1,788 in checks that she’d deposited outside the Glen Rock Post Office, police said. More victims have come forward to report checks stolen -- and later cashed -- from mailboxes outside post offices in Glen Rock and Fair Lawn, authorities said. Several other towns have had similar incidents in recent weeks.
