Danbury Firefighters Tackle Blaze In Elevator Shaft At La Quinta Hotel DANBURY, Conn. — Danbury firefighters extinguished a minor fire in the elevator shaft at the La Quinta Inn & Suites on Newtown Road on a frigid Monday afternoon, according to a Facebook post. The situation at the hotel was under control, and there were no injuries reported in the New Year's Day fire, the fire department said.
