Philadelphia Man Charged In Fatal South Jersey Shooting
A Philadelphia suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a South Jersey man earlier this year, authorities said. Teddy Smith, 39, was charged with murder and weapons-related offenses, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said. Pleasantville police officers found Nathan Adcock, 25, on May 1 after a 9-1-1 caller reported a shooting about 6:20 p.m. in the 100 block of North First Street, Tyner said.. A 42-year-old man from Atlantic County has been detained in connection with the fatal drug overdose of a teenage father, authorities said. Freddie W.. Smith of Vineland was charged with first-degree strict liability for a drug induced death, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said. On Friday, a judge granted the state's motion to detain Smith, Tyner said. A convicted cocaine dealer from South Jersey has been sentenced to 45 years in state prison for shooting a 30-year-old man to death, authorities said. Troy Demby, 37, of Egg Harbor Township must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence before becoming eligible for parole, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner. A 31 year-old man from Atlantic County has been sentenced to 16 years in state prison for fleeing police with an illegal handgun, authorities said. Jaime Cambrelen of Mays Landing pleaded guilty to first-degree unlawful possession of a handgun on Aug. 20 and was sentenced by Presiding Judge Bernard E. A South Jersey man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a 25-year-old man in Atlantic City, authorities said. Anthony Warfield was stabbed in the left side of his chest during the robbery and an ensuing fight late Saturday, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said. The fire chief and assistant chief of a volunteer company in Atlantic County have been charged with official misconduct and theft after using fire department money to set up unauthorized accounts at an auto parts shop, authorities said.
