Florida Man Wanted On 2 Warrants Busted With Sword In Hudson Traffic Stop: Police
A Florida man wanted on two warrants was busted with a sword during a traffic stop in Hudson County, authorities said.
Alain Diaz, 48, was stopped by Secaucus Police just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said.
Diaz, of Hialeah, Florida, was found to have an outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Hopatcong with no bail and an outstanding warrant out of Jersey City totaling $50, police said.
Diaz was also charged with a weapons offense for being in possession of a sword, as well as three motor vehicle summonses, Miller said.

A Billerica man who failed to come to court after two incidents in Revere last year finally appeared before a judge last week, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said.
Paul Gioiosa, 44, was arraigned in Chelsea District Court for the incidents on Thursday, June 2, the office said, one in which he allegedly threatened a store clerk with a "dirty" needle.
Revere Police responded to a call about a man, later identified as Gioiosa, who threatened the clerk with a hypodermic needle around 8:10 p.m. on December 20, 2021, the office reports.

Woman Caught With Mail Stolen From Nine Houses In Darien, Police Say
A wanted Fairfield County woman is in custody after being busted with drugs, paraphernalia, stolen mail, and packages taken from at least nine homes, police said.
In Darien, police officers on patrol in the area of Intervale Road checked on the well-being of a 37-year-old woman who was walking by herself at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Monday, May 30.
According to a spokesperson from the Darien Police Department, while checking on the woman, the officer was told that she had gotten into an argument on the phone and was unsure where her car was parked, stating that a friend had borrowed it.

A Paterson couple was jailed for repeatedly beating a 7-year-boy, authorities said.
Davon Burton, 26, and Demetries Page, 24, became the focus of an investigation after a worker with the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted detectives with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, authorities said Thursday.
The investigators interviewed multiple witnesses, including the boy, they said.

Woman Nabbed For Stealing From Fairfield County Store, Police Say
One of two women who allegedly stole more than $700 worth of merchandise from an area store has been charged with the theft.
Azra Zejnilovic, age 22, of the Bronx, turned herself in to the New Canaan Police on Wednesday, Sept. 1, for the incident which took place in February at the Athletic Shoe Factory.
According to New Canaan Police, police responded to the store, located at 3 Forest St., on a report of a larceny from the store by two women.
