Cause Of Death Determined For UConn Student, 19, Pulled From Icy Lake On Campus A cause of death has been determined for a University of Connecticut student who was found in an icy lake. Tianyin Shang, 19, from Shanghai, China, was found dead after being pulled from Mirror Lake on the Storrs campus on Monday, Jan. 20. The Chief Medical Examiner's Office said on Wednesday, Jan. 22, that Shang's death had been ruled a suicide by drowning.
