Pregnant Woman Injured, 2 Killed In Fiery Head-On, Chain-Reaction Crash In Colchester
Two people were killed in a chain-reaction crash that pushed a vehicle into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision on a Connecticut highway, authorities said.
The crash was reported around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, July 13, on Route 16 near the Cato Corner Road intersection, according to Connecticut State Police.
Investigators said a Hyundai rear-ended a Subaru in the eastbound lanes, forcing the Subaru onto the shoulder. The vehicle spun sideways and skidded into oncoming traffic, where it struck a Toyota RAV4 head-on, police said.

Wolcott police were called to 634 Bound Line Road around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, to reports of a shooting.

The most dangerous wind gusts that accompanied a cold front that is moving through the region have passed, but thousands remain without power in Connecticut.

Wrong-Way Driver Nabbed After Crash, CT State Police Say
A Connecticut man has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk in the wrong direction on a busy highway causing a two-vehicle crash.
New London County resident James Miles Tanner, age 46, of Colchester, was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 9, for the crash which took place around 11:30 p.m., Sunday on Route 395 in Montville, said the Connecticut State Police.
According to state police, Tanner, who was traveling in the wrong direction on the off-ramp of the highway in a Mercury Milan, side-swiped a Mercedes Benz.
