Former Apartment Complex Manager In Capital Region Stole Rent Checks, Police Say
A former property manager at an apartment complex in the region is accused of pocketing rent payments for himself.
Steven Belfiore, age 33, of Albany, was arrested Monday, Nov. 7, following an investigation by State Police.
Troopers in Saratoga County were first contacted in August 2022 by The Solomon Organization, which owns the FoxRun Apartment Complex in Clifton Park.
Investigators determined that Belfiore, who worked as a property manager for the company, stole a personal check and multiple money orders that residents had submitted as rent payments, according to police.

The owner of a Capital District solar business is facing charges after allegedly forging numerous contracts with another company, authorities said.
Saratoga County resident Brian Stanley, age 41, of Halfmoon, was arrested Friday, Sept. 9, for four counts of forgery and two counts of possession of a forged instrument, all felonies.
State Police began investigating in June 2022 after a Halfmoon business reported that several contracts containing forged signatures had been submitted by Stanley’s company, New York Renewable Energy, Engineering, and Recycling.

Capital District Man Accused Of Menacing Troopers With Hammer
A man from the Capital District is facing charges after he allegedly threatened New York State Police troopers with a hammer.
Troopers in Saratoga County first encountered the man at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16, while attempting to stop his vehicle for speeding on State Route 146A in the town of Clifton Park.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old Schenectady County resident Panayiotis Menagias, of Glenville, refused to stop and troopers initiated a pursuit, police said.
