A 24-year-old Prince William County woman is facing charges for hitting a Virginia State Police vehicle on Route 66 that in turn struck the trooper, launching him into the roadway, authorities said.
Khadija F. Sayyid, of Bristow, was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Camaro when she struck the troop car that was in the shoulder of Route 66 near mile marker 50 around 4 p.m. in Fairfax County Monday, May 15, VSP said.

Driver, 30, Killed After Striking Tree In South Jersey
A 30-year-old Atlantic County man was killed when his SUV went off the road and struck a tree, authorities said.
The crash occurred on Monday, May 8, at 4:34 a.m, on the 3200 block of Reading Avenue in the Elwood section of Mullica Township, police said.
Mullica Township Police received a 9-1-1 call reporting the crash. Police responded and found a single vehicle accident with entrapment.
Police officers found a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Nelson P. Narvaez, of Mullica Township. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, police said.
