Two Caught, One Sought In Paterson Stolen Car Chase
Suburban residents aren’t the only ones dealing with car theft: Paterson police chased down two of three teens caught joyriding in a stolen sedan following a home burglary. Officer Robert Klein Jr. spotted the 2014 Honda at Rosa Parks Boulevard and Broadway, moments after hearing an alert that it has been stolen during a home break-in on Preakness Avenue, Police Director Jerry Speziale said. A Passaic County sheriff's officer escaped serious injury after his cruiser was rammed from behind in Paterson by a driver who then took off, authorities said. Officer Jason Michaels chased the hit-and-run driver, but a damaged tire disabled his patrol car. His colleagues, however, found the other car and charged the driver. PATERSON, N.J. -- A passenger in a cab whose driver failed to signal a turn had a dozen bundles of heroin, several bags of crack and more than an ounce of pot -- all individually packaged for sale, the Passaic County sheriff said.
