ID Released For Man Killed After Boats Collide On Long Island
The identity has been released for a man killed after two boats collided on Long Island. The accident happened on Saturday, Aug. 1 at around 6:45 p.m. near Cow Meadow Park in Freeport Creek, Nassau County Police said. All seven passengers were transported to a local hospital in a Nassau County Ambulance. A 25-year-old man, now identified as Jorge Soto, 25, of Freeport, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by a hospital staff physician. Three Rescued From Capsized Boat Off Darien Coast
Three boaters were rescued in Fairfield County after their boat overturned, leaving them stranded. The Darien Police Marine Division was hailed shortly before 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 26 alerting them of a sinking 23-foot Donzi in Ziegler’s Cove. Police said that when the boat arrived at the scene, they found the overturned vessel partially submerged with three stranded boaters. The body of a 68-year-old Morris county man was recovered from Crescent Cove in Hopatcong, hours after the boat he was operating capsized Wednesday, authorities said. Divers from the New Jersey State Police Dive Team recovered Curtis Mulch's body from the water sometime after 3 p.m., Trooper Alejandro Goez said. Mulch, of the Landing section of Roxbury, was pronounced dead just before 3:30 p.m., Goez said. A woman was killed while being towed behind a boat and collided with a bulkhead. Nassau County Police said the woman was killed around 5:30 p.m., Sunday, June 21, in Oceanside. The body has been found of a man who went missing after an accident earlier this month in which a boat overturned off the Long Island coast. A 57-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he was struck by the propeller of an 18-foot boat that he had rented for the day in Great Peconic Bay off Laurel.
