New Capitol Riot Arrest Made On Long Island
A Long Island man has been arrested by FBI agents on a charge of illegally being part of the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol.
Justin McAuliffe, age 39, of Bellmore, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 28, for taking part in the riotous insurrection at the capitol on Wednesday, Jan. 6, according to a complaint filed in federal court.
The complaint filed in Central Islip on Jan. 28, shows a picture of McAuliffe, an accountant on Long Island, sitting in the office of either an unidentified member of the Senate or the House and holding up two fingers in a "Victory" sign.

Long Island Woman Nabbed With Crystal Meth, Other Drugs, Police Say
A Long Island woman has been arrested for the alleged possession of crystal meth and other narcotics.
Nataliya Voronova, 31, of Hicksville, was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 2, by members of the Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy D. Sini's Heroin Task Force, the DA's Office said.
“We have seen an uptick in the sale of methamphetamines in Suffolk County over the past few months and have been developing intel on the source of those drugs, which led to our investigation of this defendant,” Sini said.

Covid-19: Long Island Sees Slight Uptick In Cases, Here's Breakdown By Towns
Long Island has seen a slight uptick in positive COVID-19 cases though statewide numbers continue trending in the right direction.
There have now been 44,924 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nassau, and 45,006 in Suffolk as each county saw less than 100 new cases in the latest numbers provided by the state Department of Health.
There have been 2,198 COVID-19 fatalities in Nassau and 2,005 in Suffolk.
On Long Island, the positive infection rate over the past three days:
Monday, Aug. 31: 1.0 percent;
Tuesday, Sept. 1: 0.8 percent;
Wednesday, Sept. 2: 1.1 percent.

Long Island Woman Punches Cop, Tries To Remove Gun From Holster, Police Say
A woman on Long Island threatened officers and attempted to remove a gun from its holster while resisting during her arrest during a domestic dispute, police said.
Nassau County Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27 on Briggs Street in Bellmore.
While investigating the dispute, police said that they were confronted by Bellmore resident Erica Carlson, 46, who “became irate with the officers, making numerous threats to physically harm them."
