Harrisburg Mayor Wanda R.D. Williams has filed a petition to appoint a receiver for the Governor Square Apartments, a 221-unit housing complex at 2020 Fulton Street, due to unsafe living conditions and ongoing legal disputes, the city announced Friday, Jan. 10.
The petition follows years of neglect at the low-income housing complex, which has racked up over 1,900 code violations and multiple condemnation orders. Party City is “winding down” operations immediately at its approximately 800 locations, CEO Barry Litwin told corporate employees in a video call on Friday, Dec. 20, CNN reports.
