A 51-year-old man has died following a suspected drunk driving crash on Long Island. New York State Police troopers were called just before 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, with reports of a serious crash on the Southern State Parkway in the town of Hempstead. A preliminary investigation found that Haynes Harris, age 40, of Baldwin, was driving westbound in a BMW M3 when he struck a Chevy Equinox from behind near exit 17, police said. A Long Island man has been charged with alleged aggravated DWI with children in the car. Anthony Bolasingh, age 31, of Roosevelt, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18 in Baldwin. According to Nassau County police, officers responded to a 911 call for an auto accident in Arriving officers found that Bolasingh was driving a 1999 BMW 540 when he struck a 2018 Toyota Prius driven by a 44- year-old male and then collided with a pole, police said. Police are asking for help locating a man who robbed a Long Island convenience store while claiming to have a gun. The incident occurred at the 7/11 store on Grand Avenue in Baldwin at around 11:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, according to Nassau County police. Investigators said the suspect walked into the store with his hand under his shirt, gesturing that he had a gun. Police are investigating after remains of a body were found at a Long Island park. The remains of the unidentified male body were located Saturday, June 18 at around 9:40 a.m. in Baldwin. in the water at the Coes Neck Park Preserve, Nassau County Police said.
