Wrong-Way Driver Dies In Route 80 Crash An elderly driver headed the wrong way on westbound Route 80 was killed overnight when his sedan crashed into an SUV, responders said. The Audi driver -- apparently in his late 80s -- was declared dead at the scene of the crash on the Passaic River bridge in Woodland Park just after 4:30 a.m. Responders believe he was intoxicated. There was no immediate word on injuries to anyone in the SUV. Three lanes remained closed for an investigation by New Jersey State Police and clearing of the wreckage at milepost 56.5. Suspect Located Two Years After Lexus, Audi Stolen In Westport It took nearly two years, but police in Westport apprehended a suspect who allegedly stole a Lexus and Audi from area driveways. A Lexus was stolen from a Compo Road South driveway during the early morning hours of Dec. 30, 2016, after the owner left the key inside the vehicle. On Feb. 26 the following year, the car was recovered in Waterbury, with a handgun and cell phone inside that did not belong to the owner. Cash Stolen From Car On Overbrook Road In Darien DARIEN, Conn. -- Money was stolen from a car on Overbrook Road in Darien while the owner was away on vacation over the holidays. The owner of a 2018 Audi Q7 told police that she was on vacation from Dec. 26 through Dec. 31, and that during that time someone entered her car while it was parked in the driveway. She said the only thing that was missing was $10 in change. She believed she had locked the car, but police said the door was found ajar and there were no signs of forced entry.
