A teenager from the Capital District is behind bars after he was allegedly caught driving a stolen car with a loaded handgun. Albany Police said they tried stopping the driver near First and Judson streets at around 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, but he refused to stop. When the officer activated their emergency lights, the teen reportedly drove north on Judson Street at a high rate of speed before striking several cars near Livingston Avenue. Police have arrested a man accused of fatally stabbing an up-and-coming chef in the Capital District. Marquis Jackson, age 34, of Albany, was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, Albany Police said. Albany Jewish Community Center Evacuated After Bomb Threat
The Albany Jewish Community Center was briefly evacuated Wednesday, May 4, over a bomb threat. Albany Police said the threat came in early Wednesday morning via email. Officers and K-9’s searched the building on Whitehall Road, but found nothing to indicate the threat was authentic, police said.
