More than two dozen motorists were busted by New York State Police troopers this past week as law enforcement agencies in the Hudson Valley continue a nationwide crackdown on drunk, drugged and distracted driving.

On Friday, Oct. 5, State Police from Hawthorne arrested Joanne P. Holmes, 40, of White Plains, for DWI. She was traveling on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh, when she was involved in a one-car motor vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

Driver Being Booked For DWI Throws Up Outside Window During Westchester Stop, Police Say
A motorist from Connecticut who was allegedly drinking and driving in Westchester over the weekend is facing a DWI charge after he threw up outside his car window during a traffic stop in Scarsdale, police said.
While on patrol on Post Road shortly after midnight on Sunday morning, an officer spotted a car speeding through the village with no headlights, swerving repeatedly over the double yellow lines near Scarsdale Police Headquarters. Officers were eventually able to get the driver, Ridgefield resident, Robinson Rueda, to stop near Mamaroneck Road.

Stony Point PD: Man Found In Damaged Car In Middle Of Road Charged With DWI
A local man who was driving drunk at three times the legal limit was busted by police after he was found sitting in the middle of the road in a wrecked vehicle, said Stony Point Police.
Surujpaul Singh, 51, was arrested Sunday after a Stony Point Police officer responded to a call of a vehicle accident on Van Buren Drive, said Lt. Daniel Hylas.
Upon arrival, the officer found a disabled vehicle, occupied by Singh, in the middle of the roadway with extensive damage to the vehicle, Hylas said.
