16,500 Fentanyl Packages Found On NYC Man Traveling To Capital Region: DA
A man hauling 16,500 packages of fentanyl and heroin from New York City to the Capital Region was busted in a traffic stop, authorities said Monday, April 27.
Ramon Riveras, a 35-year-old Bronx man, was traveling through Albany around 7:45 p.m. on March 1 when he was stopped by New York State Police, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.
During the traffic stop off the Washington Avenue Extension, officers found 16,500 glassine envelopes containing fentanyl and heroin, authorities said.

Janette R. MacAusland, 49, of Wellesley, Massachusetts, is charged as a fugitive from justice tied to a murder investigation after two children were found dead inside her home, according to police in Vermont.

A New York man who had 391 grams of cocaine and 125 grams of fentanyl in his possession has been sentenced to several years in prison, authorities announced Friday, April 24.
Quentin Rowlett, 37, was sentenced to eight years behind bars followed by five years of probation after pleading guilty to felony drug possession charges, the Albany County District Attorney’s office announced.
The guilty plea for Rowlett, of Albany, marked his second felony drug conviction, prosecutors said.

An Albany man pulled a knife while inside an ambulance and later stabbed himself when the cops responded on Thursday, April 23, police said.
Kyle Seymour, 36, was a “mentally unwell” patient in the ambulance when he drew the knife around 1:10 p.m. as the vehicle was traveling on New Scotland Avenue near Holland Avenue outside Albany Medical Center, the Albany Police Department said.
