A police officer on his first solo shift helped save a woman’s life after she went into cardiac arrest following a crash in South Jersey last month, authorities said. An Albany man punched out a car window and drilled a passenger with a glass bottle in a nighttime assault, police said Thursday, April 16. Darrin Brown, 30, struck the victim’s car on Kate Street near Whitehall Road around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, the Albany Police Department said in an alert. After smashing the window, Brown picked up a glass bottle and threw it at the victim, striking him in the head, cops said.
