Former Bloomfield Mayor James P. Norton, 91, and his wife of nearly 70 years, Dorothy Victoria (Zelinski) Norton, 87, both died Saturday, Jan. 24, according to their obituary on the O’Boyle Funeral Home website. A source said the couple passed away just hours apart.
Dorothy Norton died surrounded by her husband and children at Morristown Memorial Hospital, and James Norton later died at their home, according to the obituary.
Dorothy was born in Jersey City and graduated from Passaic Valley High School in Little Falls in 1957, later working for New Jersey Bell Telephone Company in Montclair.…
