A 36-year-old Union City man was arrested and charged following a fatal hit and run crash in Jersey City, authorities announced Monday, June 1.
At 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, Jersey City police responded to Tonnelle Avenue near North Street and found Margarito Avendano-Sanchez, a 63-year-old Hoboken resident, dead at the scene after being struck by a vehicle, Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said.

A Wayne man who struck a pedestrian, crashed into a home, fled with his pit bull, and then falsely reported his vehicle stolen has been found guilty by a Passaic County jury, prosecutors announced.
