Motorcyclist Struck, Killed In EHC Months After Losing Brother: Police
A 33-year-old motorcyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in Egg Harbor City on Sunday, May 17, authorities said. At 5:58 p.m., emergency crews responded to Route 30 and New York Avenue after Alexander Oswald was struck by a vehicle while traveling westbound by an eastbound vehicle, Egg Harbor City police said. Oswald was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old Atlantic City resident, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, police said. Paul Caneiro, an Ocean Township resident, was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences after being convicted of murdering his brother, his sister-in-law and their two children in their Colts Neck home. In levying the sentence, Judge Marc Lemieux called Caneiro, a "callous, heartless, brutal killer." A 56-year-old Westchester County woman was found dead inside an uncovered manhole in Midtown Manhattan late Monday night, May 18, police said.
