A major new housing development for older adults is moving forward in Northern Westchester, as planning officials have approved a proposal for a new 118-unit active-senior community.
The project, approved by the Yorktown Planning Board on Monday, Nov. 10, will turn roughly 48 acres on Catherine Street into an age-restricted neighborhood for residents 55 and older, complete with a clubhouse, pool, new roads, and a full stormwater management system, town officials said on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

A luxury apartment community in Westchester has been sold for $63 million, which the company representing the seller says is a sign of the county's strong suburban multi-housing market.
