A 48-year-old man died after he was struck by a vehicle while performing property maintenance along Route 32 in Orange County, police said.
The fatal crash happened in Cornwall at the intersection of Route 32 and Paradise Hill on Tuesday, June 2, at around 4:20 p.m., the Town of Cornwall Police Department announced on Wednesday, June 3.
Police said Kevin Starkey, 48, of Cornwall, was conducting property maintenance on Paradise Hill while working on the shoulder of Route 32 when he was struck by a 2025 Audi Q3 traveling northbound, police said.

An 8-year-old girl was killed after she was struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle in Rockland County, police said.
The crash happened in northeast Ramapo at the intersection of Ravenna Drive and Tiffin Lane on Tuesday, June 2, at around 5:39 p.m., according to the Ramapo Police Department.
Officers responding to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle learned that the child, a Ramapo resident, was riding her bicycle when she was hit by a 2025 GMC Hummer, police said.
The vehicle was being driven by a 34-year-old Ramapo resident, according to investigators.

A Westchester County man is facing felony charges after authorities said he was driving drunk with a 6-year-old child in his vehicle in Putnam County.
Peekskill resident Fausto Elizo Guerrero Benalcazar, 26, was arrested following a traffic stop in Southeast during the early morning hours of Sunday, May 31, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday, June 2.

5 Men Jailed In Child Predator Sting In Hudson Valley, Police Say
Five Hudson Valley men were arrested and charged with felony offenses during a two-day undercover investigation targeting crimes against children in Dutchess County, police said.
The operation, announced Monday, June 1, was conducted in Fishkill by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Wappinger along with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, and the Town of Fishkill Police Department.
