Peter Napolitano, better known to viewers as his TV persona “Produce Pete,” has died, Channel 4 NBC New York announced Monday, Jan. 26. He was 80.
The Englewood, NJ native was a fixture on the Saturday editions of "Weekend Today in New York," where he often spoke about growing up in Bergen County and working at his family’s neighborhood market, Napolitano’s Produce.

Rocco B. Commisso, one of New Jersey’s richest residents and the billionaire founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Mediacom Communications, has died at age 76, the corporation announced in a statement that also ran as his obituary on the Vander Plaat Vermeulen Memorial Home website.
Commisso, of Saddle River, NJ, was listed on the Forbes 400 and had a reported net worth of $5.6 billion in 2025, according to Forbes. He was widely regarded as one of the most successful Italian immigrant entrepreneurs in the nation’s history, Mediacom said.
